The Remote Managed Migration Approach

The Remote Managed Migration (RMM) solution combines a software appliance with the same proven process and a similar per-user pricing structure that is offered as part of Binary Tree’s highly successful Weekend Express and Remote Hosted Migration (RHM) solutions. And like the Weekend Express and RHM solutions, the RMM solution enables organizations that are migrating to new messaging systems to avoid the top-tier rates and travel costs of bringing in out-of-town consultants and to dramatically simplify the planning and budgeting of their migration project.



With Remote Managed Migrations, the customer has the choice of installing Binary Tree’s migration and coexistence software appliance onto their existing hardware or buying the software appliance pre-installed on a physical server. Binary Tree, or an authorized partner, can then remotely configure the appliance for the customer’s environment and perform the migration without requiring on-site visits. Additionally, with the coexistence component of the RMM appliance, customers will have rich coexistence and interoperability between Lotus Notes and Office 365. The rich coexistence component enables Lotus Notes users and Microsoft Outlook users in Office 365 to seamlessly exchange emails and calendar entries, do free/busy lookups for users on either platform plus it enables the migrated Outlook users to continue to use Lotus Notes mail-enabled workflow applications.

The Remote Managed Migration appliance eliminates the need for customers to have to procure migration and coexistence software, services and hardware separately. With simple per user pricing, and a repeatable methodology that has been used to migrate millions of users, this offering will benefit customers looking to migrate to on-premises Exchange 2013/2010, private clouds, or public clouds like Microsoft Office 365. RMM is a continuation of Binary Tree’s commitment to simplifying the complexity behind Lotus Notes migrations.

Migrate Email, Calendar, Contacts and To-Do’s

A standard Remote Managed Migration to Microsoft Office 365 migrates 90 days of email, the past year of calendar entries, all future calendar entries, all contacts and all to-do entries. There are no limitations for a Remote Managed Migration to on-premises Exchange 2013/2010. Need to migrate more data to Office 365? We will work with you to set parameters for how much data you migrate for your users of their email, calendar entries, contacts, and to-do entries.

Set Up Interoperability between Notes and Office 365

Platform coexistence options are available for full coexistence and interoperability between Lotus Notes and Exchange on-premises and rich coexistence and interoperability between Lotus Notes and Office 365. The rich coexistence component enables Lotus Notes users and Microsoft Outlook users in Office 365 to seamlessly exchange emails and calendar entries, do free/busy lookups for users on either platform plus it enables the migrated Outlook users to continue to use Lotus Notes email-enabled workflow applications. The full coexistence option for hybrid deployments of Notes and Exchange on-premises includes everything provided with rich coexistence and adds directory synchronization between the two platforms.
