Migrate from Lotus Notes & Domino to the Microsoft platform
Binary Tree’s proven end-to-end migration methodology will help you succeed in migrating to the Microsoft platform
Binary Tree provides complete solutions for
analysis,
coexistence and
migration. Using a proprietary methodology developed from industry standards and a great deal of experience, the Binary Tree process employs state of the art software along with proven techniques and methodologies to ensure projects are executed successfully and result in the highest degree of customer satisfaction.
ANALYZE
Binary Tree’s comprehensive migration approach begins with a
Pre-Project Assessment. Prior to embarking on any migration initiative, customers are encouraged to assess and review their legacy environment in order to better scope and plan their migration project. Binary Tree’s Pre-Project Assessment phase ensures that customers uncover hidden costs and obstacles that may impact their migration efforts early on in the process.
Once a project is underway,
Binary Tree recommends performing a
Detailed Assessment of the environment. Binary Tree’s
Detailed Assessment phase helps drive down manual work and overall migration costs.
COEXIST
Migration projects that span several weeks or months can greatly benefit from a proper
Messaging Coexistence solution. Binary Tree’s Coexistence phase ensures that disparate messaging systems continue to seamlessly interoperate during the migration project.
Application migration is typically the final phase of a migration project.
Application Coexistence should be implemented in order to ensure that mail enabled applications continue to function properly during the migration project.
MIGRATE
Successful
Messaging Migration projects begin with verifying the migration approach by piloting the plan with a subset of users. Testing in the customer environment is sure to uncover special considerations. Production migrations are executed using the approach refined in the pilot phase. Binary Tree’s extensive migration expertise helps ensure a smooth and painless process for our customers and their users.
Part of the migration process is to
Mobile Migration phase. This phase includes migrating users between enterprise mobile servers and between enterprise messaging systems.
The
Application Migration phase typically begins with customers piloting the migration of a small number of critical applications. The pilot serves to refine the migration approach, verify target environments and understand overall timeline and budget considerations. Production migration results with all legacy applications being archived, retired or migrated to their new target platforms.
CONSOLIDATE AND RETIRE DOMINO
As the use of the Domino environment is reduced, the next step is the
Domino Consolidation and Retirement phase. During this phase, you can reduce your on-going costs by decommissioning Domino servers and applications.
